Kawasaki's Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 are finally here, but do they really justify their price when compared to much cheaper electric alternatives? Some riders have pointed out that for a fraction of the cost, you could get an electric bicycle that does 25 mph with nearly double the range.

While the Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 do offer more power and better handling their limited top speed and range make them feel underwhelming compared to gas models. If the goal is to replace a gas-powered Ninja do these actually fit the bill or are they more of a glorified e-bike at a premium price?

Would you choose a Kawasaki electric motorcycle or does the current pricing make it hard to justify over an e-bike or even a traditional gas model?

The potential of these ebikes is clear, but their current limitations in range and top speed make them a tough sell. For most, an ebike or used gas Ninja offers better value.
