Kawasaki has finally entered the electric motorcycle scene with the Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 but are they worth considering, or are they just expensive proof-of-concept bikes? With only 41 miles of range and a 3.7-hour charge time per battery some riders are wondering if they're actually practical or if a high-performance e-bike would make more sense.

The biggest issue seems to be that, for the price of these electric Ninjas you could buy a gas-powered Kawasaki with way better performance. While it’s great that Kawasaki is getting into EVs it feels like they need major improvements in range, power, and charging speed to really be competitive.

Do you think Kawasaki is on the right track or do they need to go back to the drawing board to make their EV bikes truly worth it?

At 41 miles of range, the Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 feel more like commuter scooters than true motorcycles. For the price, you’re better off with a gas-powered Ninja unless you just want a novelty EV.
