the new Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 have a good weight for city riding and the range fits daily commutes but that 12 horsepower seems low don;t you guys think?
Compared to the gas powered 250 300 or 400 Ninjas which are only a little heavier and have way more power I'm not sure it's worth it. is there a way to improve it or are we stuck with that number?

Yeah, hmmm I think 12 horsepower on a Ninja badge is a joke. Kawasaki clearly aimed this at beginners, but even a gas-powered 250cc absolutely smokes it. It’s light, sure, but that doesn’t mean much when you’re left in the dust at every stoplight.

As for improvements? Unless Kawasaki unlocks extra power through a firmware update (which is unlikely), you’re stuck with it. Battery and controller upgrades could help, but at that point, why not just buy a better electric bike?
